Memorial Day Murph

This Memorial Day, join us at Project Gallantly Forward in collaboration with Rise Up Training as we complete the Murph workout. The Murph is a CrossFit Hero workout performed every Memorial Day to honor U.S. Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2005. It has become a tradition to complete this workout on Memorial Day as a way to honor Lt. Murphy, honor all fallen service members, push oneself physically in symbolic solidarity with their sacrifice, and build community through shared effort and remembrance.
The Murph is more than a workout—it’s a time to remember, reflect, and stand in gratitude for those whose final battle has been lost. Whether you complete the full workout or modify it, your presence matters. PGF is dedicating our Murph workout to honor the life and legacy of Matthew Carney.
